With roots in evidence-based combat medicine, TECC applies proven trauma care principles to civilian tactical and high-risk environments. The course addresses patient care across the phases of tactical casualty care and prepares providers to operate during incidents such as active threats, mass-casualty events, and other hazardous situations.

The Third Edition places greater emphasis on practical application and real-world decision-making, including:

STOPS Medical TECC Training

The STOPS Medical 16-hour TECC Provider Course combines classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, and realistic patient-care simulations.

Training includes practical trauma-care skills and immersive scenarios designed to challenge participants to assess, treat, communicate, and make critical decisions in high-threat and mass-casualty environments.

Course training may include:

Hemorrhage control and tourniquet application
Tourniquet conversion
Systematic trauma assessment
Airway and respiratory emergency management
Management of penetrating and blast-related trauma
Care of wounded responders and pediatric casualties
Casualty movement, lifting, dragging, and evacuation techniques
Triage, casualty tracking, and reunification
Tactical and mass-casualty patient simulations
Psychological considerations during mass-casualty incidents

Hyper-Realistic® Scenario-Based Training

STOPS Medical integrates Hyper-Realistic® simulation and scenario-based training to give participants opportunities to apply TECC principles under realistic operational conditions.

Participants work through tactical casualty and mass-casualty scenarios that reinforce clinical skills, situational awareness, communication, teamwork, triage, casualty movement, and decision-making.

TECC Standards and Recognition

NAEMT's TECC course is consistent with current guidelines established by the Committee on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC), and NAEMT is a recognized education partner of C-TECC.

The TECC course is accredited by CAPCE for 16 hours of continuing education credit and recognized by NREMT.

Thank you and the entire team for having us. It was a highly beneficial day. As far as AAR items, I really only have positive feedback, as follows:

Instructors/SMEs
All top-notch. Everyone was professional, tactful and knowledgeable in the field of tactical medicine. They provided excellent critiques and feedback which was well-received by our folks.

Training equipment
As described, the STOPS equipment provided hyper-realistic training which required the students to think and act quickly, especially with regards to treating major bleeding. A lot of these folks have never received that type of hands-on training. This equipment is all fantastic and value-added. The needle decompression station was also very received and provided good "landmark" identification for the needle d procedure and it stimulated good conversation on the topic.

Make-up/Moulage
By far the best trauma make-up and moulage I have seen in my career. The wounds were realistic and relevant to what we do in tactical medicine. Many of the wounds required the students to think outside the box in order to properly treat, triage and move the "casualty". The folks creating the make-up and moulage were outstanding. In summary, a completely professional staff, providing high-quality and realistic training. Our team certainly benefited from this training and all the teammates I spoke to had nothing but good things to say about the venue, staff, equipment and training.
